A World in Color: Why I Paint the Way I Do
Color has always been my way of understanding the world. Long before I thought of myself as a serious “artist,” I was noticing hues, textures, and rhythms everywhere - on city streets, in landscapes, in the quiet moments shaped by music and travel. I’ve always felt like a world citizen, deeply aware that despite our differences, we share a common humanity. My art is born from that belief: that color can connect us, soften boundaries, and tell stories that words sometimes cannot.
This blog, A World in Color, is a space where I share the inspiration behind my paintings, what I see, feel, and carry with me from a life shaped by movement, culture, and curiosity. Art has always been on my mind whether I was sitting at a meeting as a business consultant (when the view outside the window would call me to paint it) or whether I was on a walk, grocery shopping or even at an event. I was always crafting the next painting in my head.
Art Shaped by Travel, Music, and Memory: Travel has been one of my greatest teachers. Every place I’ve visited has left an imprint, and I capture these by taking up to 300 photographs a day!
A Lifelong Relationship with Art: Art has always been part of my life, even during years when I worked full-time in another career. I painted in the margins of my days, early mornings, late evenings, weekends, returning to it again and again because it felt essential. Now, I’m devoting myself more fully to my creative practice. This season of my life allows me to slow down, explore more deeply, and create work that reflects both where I’ve been and who I am becoming. Each painting represents a moment of presence, an accumulation of experiences, emotions, and influences shaped over time.
For the Collector: If you’re someone who seeks art with meaning, art that brings color, calm, and a sense of connection into your space, I create with you in mind. My hope is that my work doesn’t just decorate a wall, but becomes part of your daily life: a quiet companion, a source of joy, or a reminder of places traveled (or still dreamed of).
I invite you to explore my collections and see what resonates with you. Trust that the right piece often finds us when we’re ready.
An Invitation
This blog will continue to share the stories behind my work, new paintings, inspirations, travels, and reflections on art as a way of living and seeing the world.
Thank you for being here. I’m grateful to share this journey with you.
