Peace in the Sunlit Canopy began as a quiet study of a backlit forest, where sunlight filtered through branches and dense green foliage, illuminating small moments of life within the thicket.
A few birds entered the scene almost gently, but as the painting developed, the larger bird took on a presence of its own and changed the direction of the entire work.
What began as an exploration of light and woodland atmosphere became a painting about freedom, the living breathing life embedded in every nook, and the powerful sense of connection that can emerge when we become fully present in the natural world.
