Reflected architecture bends, warps, fragments, and reforms across a glass surface in Phoenix Hotel Rising. A building under construction becomes an image of transformation, as rigid structural lines meet fluid distortions, shifting color, and unexpected abstraction.
The painting began with an observed urban scene, yet the reflection altered reality into something more expressive and uncertain. It captures a city in motion which is growing, rebuilding, and continually redefining itself. Through the mix of order and disruption, the work asks you to notice how perception changes what we see and how fleeting moments of change can contain both instability and possibility.

The painting reflects my fascination with the visual character of a place, the many unexpected arrangements, colors, and details that make one street unlike any other. Windows, structural lines, and reflected light move across the composition with the rhythm of a dance. In Windowscape Waltz, architecture becomes a shifting arrangement of color, repetition, movement, and visual interruption.
The scene remains recognizable, yet its forms begin to dissolve into abstraction. Repeated panes and reflected passages create a sense of tempo, while contrasting areas of light and darkness suggest changing viewpoints. The painting reflects my interest in the point where representation and abstraction meet, where an ordinary architectural detail can become a completely new visual experience.
